Fits GM LS-series V8 engines (1997–up) used in Chevrolet, GMC, and related applications without AFM/DOD.

This kit is used in engine service situations where camshaft wear, lifter wear, and timing system degradation have affected valvetrain operation and engine timing accuracy.

In LS engines, camshaft lobes and lifters operate under continuous contact. Once wear begins, both components are typically replaced together. Valve springs are also serviced to maintain proper load and control, especially when camshaft profile or engine mileage requires it.

During disassembly, timing components and oil system parts are commonly addressed at the same time. Access to these components requires partial teardown, making combined replacement a standard repair approach.

Replacing these components together helps restore valve timing accuracy, maintain valvetrain stability, and support consistent lubrication and engine operation while reducing the need for repeated teardown.
